Jacket Swap--Ross Donation Site
CAST kids at Reed
Reed Elementary Community Service Project
The Reed Elementary CAST students are busy this year with student-led community service projects. These students want to give back to their community while helping others and keeping clean, reusable winter gear out of the landfills.

Please donate your clean and reusable winter weather gear (jackets, snow pants, boots, etc) at any of the Kuna School District Elementary Schools from October 30-November 8. Then come back to Reed Elementary on November 13, from 4-7 to choose items that fit your children's needs this winter.

Reed Elementary would like to thank Latte Da and Les Schwab for placing donation bins in their businesses to help collect donations. The CAST students can not wait to see this community service project in action. Please email Mrs. Holmes at Reed Elementary at mpholmes@kunaschools.org if you have any questions.

AVID definition: moving up through your own hard work
At Ross, we believe that all students can learn at high levels!
Ross is pretty special! We are an AVID Nationwide Demonstration School, one of only a few in the nation.

What does it mean to be an AVID school? As an AVID school, we believe that all students can be prepared for their next level of learning. AVID stands for Advancement via Individual Determination, which means we support students in moving up through their own hard work. We believe that every student can learn at high levels (grade level or higher) and we use all kinds of strategies to help students become their best learning selves and be prepared for their future--middle school and beyond!

Cell Phones and Smart Watches
ross is a learning zone
Ross is a Learning Zone!
Ross is a learning zone. We want to have uninterrupted instruction time and we want kids to be able to play with each other.

For that reason, we have any students with cell phones leave them in their backpacks during the school day (except for medical uses). Smart watches can be used as watches or tools (example: the calculator function), but not as a cell phone (example: texting).

Please help us protect instruction and social interaction time for our Rossome kids!

Attendance Matters
Attendance Matters
In order to learn best, students need to be here for instruction. Thanks so much for helping us get to 94% attendance this week.

See the graphic below for details about how absences add up to so much missed instruction over time.

We want each student to be massively successful and ready for their futures. We love them!
