Student Involvement
Our Lunch Clubs are in full swing now! We have about 15 different clubs running, from Space Club to Reptile Club to Art Club. We're so proud of our 4th graders who have submitted club ideas and enjoy gathering to learn and play together. Our Community value #1 is "I work together with others to learn and play," and Lunch Clubs are a great example of that.

Three of our Lunch Club leaders, Addy M., Zach S., and Grace G., presented at the ISBA (Idaho School Board Association) conference on Thursday. They impressed many state-wide education leaders with their enthusiasm and knowledge. They had what felt like hundreds of people come to their booth. Special thanks for the parent volunteers, Jennifer, Megan, and Abigail who came along to chaperone. Trustee Nixon, Superintendent Bekkedahl, and Asst. Superintendent Jason Reddy also came by.

We're so proud of our students that step up and show leadership and build community in so many ways.

AVID definition: moving up through your own hard work
At Ross, we believe that all students can learn at high levels!
Ross is pretty special! We are an AVID Nationwide Demonstration School, one of only a few in the nation.

What does it mean to be an AVID school? As an AVID school, we believe that all students can be prepared for their next level of learning. AVID stands for Advancement via Individual Determination, which means we support students in moving up through their own hard work. We believe that every student can learn at high levels (grade level or higher) and we use all kinds of strategies to help students become their best learning selves and be prepared for their future--middle school and beyond!

Cell Phones and Smart Watches
ross is a learning zone
Ross is a Learning Zone!
Ross is a learning zone. We want to have uninterrupted instruction time and we want kids to be able to play with each other.

For that reason, we have any students with cell phones leave them in their backpacks during the school day (except for medical uses). Smart watches can be used as watches or tools (example: the calculator function), but not as a cell phone (example: texting).

Please help us protect instruction and social interaction time for our Rossome kids!

Attendance Matters
Attendance Matters
In order to learn best, students need to be here for instruction. Thanks so much for helping us get to 94% attendance this week.

See the graphic below for details about how absences add up to so much missed instruction over time.

We want each student to be massively successful and ready for their futures. We love them!
