Top students in I-Ready this month
|
We've been seeing huge growth in our Math this year thanks in part to the hard work by students on I-Ready.
Last month, students completed 2,236 lessons.
Over 120 students earned an I-Ready Punch Reward card and got to shop in our school store with free vouchers!
Our top I-Ready students for the month were:
- Ella S.
- Atticus S.
- Holland L.
- Logan A.
Our classes that won the I-Ready Stuffy Trophy for highest percentage of lessons passed with a score of 70% or higher were:
- Mrs. Gambill's class
- Mrs. Hunter's class
- Mrs. Johnson's class

We have a new AVID mural at CAST, painting by a local artist, Malynda Poulson. Select students were able to help with the painting. Here's a picture of it's current progress--it'll be finished by next week!

At Ross, we believe that all students can learn at high levels!
|
Ross is pretty special! We are an AVID Nationwide Demonstration School, one of only a few in the nation.
What does it mean to be an AVID school? As an AVID school, we believe that all students can be prepared for their next level of learning. AVID stands for Advancement via Individual Determination, which means we support students in moving up through their own hard work. We believe that every student can learn at high levels (grade level or higher) and we use all kinds of strategies to help students become their best learning selves and be prepared for their future--middle school and beyond!

Cell Phones and Smart Watches
|
|
|
|
Ross is a learning zone. We want to have uninterrupted instruction time and we want kids to be able to play with each other.
For that reason, we have any students with cell phones leave them in their backpacks during the school day (except for medical uses). Smart watches can be used as watches or tools (example: the calculator function), but not as a cell phone (example: texting).
Please help us protect instruction and social interaction time for our Rossome kids!

In order to learn best, students need to be here for instruction. Thanks so much for helping us get to 94% attendance this week.
See the graphic below for details about how absences add up to so much missed instruction over time.
We want each student to be massively successful and ready for their futures. We love them!
